It was stated that the hot air balloon was caught in a reverse wind while preparing to land in the morning from Çavuşin Village and got stuck between the fairy chimneys during an emergency landing. Balloon pilot Caner Uzun explained that the balloon, which took off around 05:20, encountered a reverse wind while descending to land in Aşık Valley, causing them to land the balloon by brushing against the rocks.
Pilot Error?
Although pilot Caner Uzun claimed that the accident occurred due to a reverse wind, it was stated that no reverse wind was blowing in the area at the time of the incident and that many other balloons flying in the same location were not affected, except for this one. Experts reached by Turizm Güncel suggest that the accident was most likely caused by pilot error.
